• Affirmation of Freedom to Marry
  All foreigners must obtain this document from their respective embassy in Thailand to prove they are legally single and eligible to marry.
• Document Translation and Legalization
  Documents obtained from the embassy must be translated into Thai and legalized by the Department of Consular Affairs (MFA) before use at the district office.
• Communication and Witness Requirements
  District offices may require an interpreter if the foreigner cannot speak Thai, and two qualified witnesses must be present during registration.
• Prenuptial Agreements
  Many couples overlook drafting a prenup to manage personal and marital assets. Under Thai law, it must be registered simultaneously with the marriage.
• Marriage Visa (Non-O Visa)
  A valid marriage certificate is a prerequisite for a foreigner to apply for a long-term Marriage Visa to reside in Thailand.
